Curious about this
« on: January 02, 2016, 08:22:35 pm »
I just updated to 3.13 for the default Scotflight.  The cost was more than $11 US which I thought was very high considering the amount of updated material but I wanted the latest and greatest so I sucked it up and paid.

I noticed the photo customers paid zero for what looks like the same upgrade.  Obviously, we default customers are subsidizing the photo customers.  I wonder if you would mind explaining why.

Hi Rich,

Between V3.12 and V3.13, Photo customers got minor improvements, but the Standard customers got these plus three additional airports, two of which were major international airports (these ones were already in the Photo version). This is why the Standard upgrade was charged but the Photo one was free.

The full Standard product is cheaper than Photo, as it has fewer airports in it.

Over time, we are working to bring everything up to the same standard and coverage.

Regards,

Iain M.

That makes sense.  Thank you for the answer.
