Hi Iain.

Thats perfectly fine, understand you wont be developing for FS2020, always acknowledged that, it was more my P3Dv5 sim install I was asking about to have RAF Lossimouth populated with its native Typhoons again as it was after the entirely separate RAF Scotflight module we had for FSX that I no longer use, but if it cant be done, it cant be done, still appreciate and enjoy Scotflight in P3Dv5.

Enjoy your retirement, you deserve it.

Thanks.

Hi Colin

Sorry,  but I am going to give this a miss and hope that maybe someone will produce a version of Lossiemouth for MSFS2020 soon.

Just one thing I would say from the info you have given in your last post.  If you are trying to use the RAF sceneries with Scotlibs then that will not give you anything like full coverage of the airfields.
Scotlibs are specifically designed to provide library objects for our recent freeware sceneries produced for use with P3D v4 & 5 and with Orbx's TEScotland North.  Many of the objects in the RAF Collection are not in these libraries.  The RAF airfields need our ScotflightLibraries which were included with the commercial products.

Hi Iain what files and from what directory/folder would you like?

For P3Dv5 I created a dir on a dedicated P3Dv5 SSD of I:\ on my pc called Scot2020 and within that folder are sub folders called Airports, Scotflight, Scotlibs and a few other files that are probably not important? But within those folders are sub folders and within them probably more, its all getting a little bit complicated for an average elderly Joe PC user like me :)

I have noticed Scotflight installs to primary drive C:\ too.

I would have thought as the creator of Scotflight that once included parked aircraft Tornado's for RAF Lossiemouth and then as an update to Typhoons you would know better than me what files might need changing?

Not sure what to do now Iain? if its too much bother then please don't worry, its not a big thing and can live with it while I transition to FS2020 fully, realise you are in retirement now and well deserved too.

Thanks for all the years of Scotflight development, its been much appreciated here.

Hi Colin

I asked if you could give me a list of the scenery files you currently have in place for Lossiemouth for P3Dv5.  If I am trying to do a quick fix then it would be helpful to know that I am doing it for the files you have currently installed.  It's been a long time since the product was last worked on.

Hi Iain

Had not realised the complexity of what you do programming wise, had hoped it might have been as simple an operation of copying and pasting older FSX Typhoon Aircraft files over to the new LM P3D platform.

Position wise and Aircraft parking was fine with what we had before FSX wise, am able to get on base from time to time, but its probably a matter of national security to show exactly where they are parked :)

What we had with original RAF Scotflight was fine, The GR4 Tornado's are long gone now of course and replaced with the Typhoons and we even have the Maritime Poseidon MRA1 now too, not sure if these could be added, but just something to spice up the Airfield would be great please, it seems deserted as it stands and that does not reflect the real time air time activity's we experience up here :)

RAF Lossiemouth is the only Scottish airbase left now after the MOD cut backs, it would be awesome if Scotflight could make the base a bit more active again in P3Dv5 please.

Dont want to push my luck too far Iain, but if the new Lossimouth footbridge to East beach could be added too, that would be the icing on the cake.

Thanks and special thanks for all the great Scotflight work and enjoyment you have given to us over the years, its much appreciated.

Hi

Sorry for the delay,  I was offline for a few days.

It's been a while since we did anything with the RAF bases and the last version available was not designed to be specifically compatible with P3Dv5.  I would think a full re-work of the scenery is really needed now if it is to be used with P3Dv5.  This is not something I feel in a position to tackle as I have more or less reduced any design to pottering with small strips and mainly now for my own use.
If you can give me a list of the individual scenery files, with dates,  you are currently using for Lossiemouth I will see if I can add to them for the update you require.  Can you advise where these particular aircraft are stationed on the airfield?

Hi both you Iains and thanks for the scenery over the years for FSX and P3D.

Have supported Scotflight many a year and bought it all I think for the various formats.

Asked a while back, could you do the Lossiemouth footbridge and it was taken under consideration, well ... that footbridge is getting demolished soon but there is a new one getting built quite soon and will provide an artists impression here for P3Dv5 of course please and this would be around for hundreds of years more :)

Also do recognise you are both into retirement, but as this is Scotflight, would it be possible to add even the parked FSX Typhoons to RAF Lossimouth P3Dv5 scenery again please, base flying from there seems so empty without them.

And new east bridge to beach that has been approved at last :)

Thanks for these updated airfields, Iain. These small Scottish airfields have a lot of character, so I am looking forward to any others that may be in the development pipeline!
