Excellent Scenery
« on: March 02, 2011, 11:47:01 am »
Hi,

Just thought I'd say how good the Scotflight 2.2 for FSX scenery is! So far I've only flown around Shetland - where I live - and the attention to detail is fantastic. The additional landmarks and buildings really enhance the already excellent photoscenery producing a very immersive experience when flying typical ops with the SIC Islander.

Just a couple of suggestions for any future updates.... the Weisdale transmitter mast is a prominent navigation hazard on the Weisdale hill, the little white dot at the centre of this Google map:

http://maps.google.co.uk/?ie=UTF8&ll=60.243986,-1.31321&spn=0.050351,0.162392&t=h&z=13

The Out Skerries airfield is very detailed and life like, but the mesh terrain is very difficult to land on. I'd almost suggest a flattened runway for here, or at least an adjustment to the mesh to remove some of the lumps if this is possible? Foula is fine landing directly on the terrain (and very realistic).

Anyway, many thanks for a great scenery product!

Cheers,

Rory

Hi Rory

Many thanks for your comments on the scenery,   they are much appreciated,  especially when they come from a 'local'.
With regard to the mast at Weisdale,  that should be a straightforward addition for a future version.
At Out Skerries I would hope we could always retain the slopes,   rather than revert to a flat runway which I think just would not look right.  We  were aware it was a bit bumpy but my testers assured me that it was landable so we went with what we have now.  We can certainly look at whether it's possible to smooth things out somewhat whilst still retaining the slopes.
